The Manjimup Timber Park was officially opened on 11 October 1986. This amazing park brings together 10 ha of bushland, native flora, cultivated gardens and historic exhibits.

One of the main attractions is the State Timber Museum which investigates the south west's strong connections with the timber industry.

One of the exhibits includes a locally developed Whim. The Whim was used in the mid 1800's to haul karri logs from the forest to a mill or bush landing. Heavy chains secured a log between the wheels then the whim was pulled by teams of up to 20 horses or bullocks.

Locomotive Number 109 is another exciting display at Manjimup Timber Park. This locomotive was built in Manchester in 1907 and imported to Australia to transport passenger carriages between Perth and Freemantle. From 1958 - 62 this engine hauled timber over rough bush lines to the Northcliffe Mill.

This park is only minutes from the Manjimup town centre, however there is a lengthy walk trail exploring the native bush land as well as beautifully created gardens.

There is a cafe within the grounds of the park the "Top Notch Cafe" where one can sit out on the veranda to enjoy, reflect and watch the children play.
