NORTHCLIFFE

There's nowhere better to enjoy the South West's natural attractions than Northcliffe and nearby Windy Habour.

 

There is everything from a short stroll in Forest Park or along the cliff tops of Point D'Entrecastreaux to a six day trek in the wilderness section of the Bibbulmun Track. There are many walks catering for all levels of fitness and experience. Expect to see world famous flowers and fungi, magnificent trees, birds and native animals. You might even see whales, seals and dolphins, or you can even have a go at fishing for trout in the Warren River and along the coast at Salmon Beach.

 

Call in to the Northcliffe Visitor Centre and discover "Understory - art in nature". Understory is a unique art experience.  Artworks are located along a 1.2 km trail through pristine, native forests. Explore sculptures, stories, poetry and music as you wander through the amazing setting.

CHOOSE YOUR AREA

Take a walk through the Northcliffe Remembrance Trail, a 1.5 km walk back through time!

Take a wander through the massive Forest Park and its tracks, set amongst some of the biggest trees you will ever see! Tracks range from 400 m long to 3.5 km long.

Boorara Conservation Park is home to Cairn Rock, a massive rock that you are able to walk around on the 6 km trail. Along with Cairn Rock take a look at the Boorara Tree and Lane Poole Falls on the 5 km trail.

Come take a stroll through the trees at the Jane Forest Walk Trail, a trail of 11 km long.

Looking for a picnic spot? then how about Moons Crossing where the water flows straight accross the road (4x4 to cross). Or mybe a hike through the 11km trail of Blackberry Pools.

The D'Entrecasteaux National Park is one of a handful of certified global bio-diversity hotspots. Masses of wildflowers in soring, abundant wildlife and breath taking scenery at every turn make this a must do area for any hiker.

Shannon National Park is a great family place! with bush campnig grounds and trails from 2.5km - 8km.

Windy is harbour is well named! Bring a jacket and maybe a raincoat. This rugged coastal area is simply breath-taking and has several trails to explore. You can see whales during their migration, wildflowers, wildlife and it feels like you are on the edge of the world. The cliffs here are made from soft limestone so please be extra careful and stay on the designated trails. Your safety is our concer but your responsibility.

Bibbulmun Track is open back on its normal alignment after the Northcliffe fires but there are no camping huts at Gardner or Dog Pool. Suggest walkers visit the Bibbulmun Track website for details.
