Bush Walking

The Warren Blackwood Region has a multitude of walks. Bush walking is a fantastic way to explore the beautiful surroundings.

There are endless opportunities to meander along lush green river banks and between tall Karri trees.  Bush walking or hiking is an all year round activity.

In July/August the rivers and waterfalls are at their peak.  In Spring the wildflowers bring colour and excitement to the undergrowth.

Wildlife can be observed all year around.  Depending on where you go, the scenery can range from dense forest, to ocean cliffs, to grass plains.

They also range from short and easy walks (including many that can be accessed by people with disabilities) right through to steep climbs on rocky hills.

The Bibbulmun Track is one of the world's great long distance walk trails, stretching nearly 1000km from Kalamunda, a suburb in the hills on the outskirts of Perth, to the historic town of Albany on the south coast. It passes through the heart of the scenic south west of Western Australia.

The Track is for walkers only and is signposted with yellow triangular markers symbolising the Waugal, the rainbow serpent of the Aboriginal Dreaming. It takes walkers through towering karri and tingle forests, down mist-shrouded valleys, over giant granite boulders and along breathtaking coastal heathlands. It passes through many of the most beautiful national parks of the south west forests and coastline.
